Medical insurance

Every insured working citizen has a social security number. On its basis, a plastic card with this number is issued. Registration of a social security number takes place at the regional offices of the Ministry of Labor, located at the place of registration of a citizen.

The TSI (Tarjeta Sanitaria Individual) medical card allows you to receive medical care throughout Europe, but you will additionally have to order a TSE (Solicitud Tarjeta Sanitaria Europea) card. You can do this on the website of the social security system. If you couldn’t figure it out on your own, you can contact the employees of Alicante Real Estate. They will help you collect the required documents and submit your application.

There are two types of health insurance in the Kingdom: public and private. State insurance is funded by citizens' income taxes. Private – financed by the insured himself.

State health insurance includes:

  • emergency medical assistance;
  • visiting a therapist;
  • testing and regular examinations;
  • management of pregnancy and childbirth;
  • operations as needed.

Dentistry and plastic medicine are not included in the state insurance.
